Florian Nidecker is Swiss born but has fallen in love with BC and now makes his home here in Vancouver.

His photography is motivated by a love of the real and surreal. He is fascinated by how small, seemingly inconsequential, moments can transcend the normal and contain pure magic.

It is his passion to bear witness to those transcendent moments and through dedication, and occasionally luck, capture them photographically.

His interest in photography became a passion in his early 20's after buying a small 35mm film Rollei.

This little camera opened up the world of black and white photography and allowed him to engage with people by story telling through that lens.

In all of his work, from portraiture to reportage and street life, Florian seeks to apply ingenuity, strive for authenticity and to create images that are moving for the viewer.
